Basic Requirements:
- A minimum of six months experience in a theatrical environment as a dresser with a general understanding of the use and maintenance of costumes, fabrics, wigs, make-up and accessories.
- College degree in Theatre Costuming or related discipline (preferred but not required).
- Applicant should possess costume experience with a range from basic minor sewing repair skills (repair tears, replace zippers, snaps, etc.) to a high skill of costume construction, fitting, alteration & craft skills.
- Hands on capability to operate industrial sewing machines and troubleshoot technical problems.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Must be team-oriented with a positive attitude.
- Be capable of successfully interacting with various entertainers, technicians, outside contractors, entertainment and park staff, and personnel from other departments.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Adhere to departmental and area safety policies and procedures.
- General understanding of the use and maintenance of costumes, fabrics, wigs, make-up and accessories.
- Must have a flexible schedule and be willing to work a variety of shifts including shifts during the daytime, evenings, week-days, week-ends and holidays.
Job Responsibilities: Including but not limited to;
- Assist performers with dressing quick costume changes and helping to insure that costuming pre-sets and post-sets are completed properly during shows or events.
- Assist with the cleaning, care and maintenance of show costumes and the performing of minor repairs and alterations as necessary.
- Assist with the coordinating, organizing, distribution and proper storage of costumes, wigs, headpieces, shoes and accessories for the show.
- Clean, organize and maintain laundry, costume repair and storage areas.
- Responsible for implementation of the daily operation of the Moroccan Palace Costume Area.
- Responsible for maintaining the Costuming integrity of the show.
- Maintain open communication of all costume needs with Senior Dresser, Stage Manager and Costume Shop Supervisor.
- Assist with Entertainment activities and special events in other facilities as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and quality standards through all assigned tasks.
- Perform other functions as directed by management for the good of the department and park.
- Attend and assist with dress rehearsals & onstage approvals when required.
